Scientist in US have developed a smartphone application which will save your life from the most deadliest heart attack. The application works similar to the standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) which helps in detecting a heart attack.
The AliveCor app is managed through a smartphone with a two-wire attachment. It will help to detect if a person is having an ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) which blocks the artery completely. The app will take a ECG on the spot and will send the results to the cloud where the cardiologist will review it. If STEMI is found person will be told to visit the hospital immediately which will help him to gain faster treatment and save life.
The typical ECG machine has 12-leads which help in diagnosis, as attack occurs in different parts of heart similarly in the app the wires attached are moved to different parts to record all the 12 important parts.
J. Brent Muhlestein the chief investigator from the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute said that “The sooner the doctors can detect the blockage the faster is the treatment for it. The life of the person can be saved more easily with this”. During the research 204 patients were tested with the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) and with the AliveCor app the results proved the same.
Looking to the price, AliverCor app is available the rate of Rs 15000 in India which lesser than the typical ECG machine. With this within 30 seconds you can get the results on your smartphones.
